Called on the Security Council on Wednesday Iraqi leaders to end the political vacuum in the country by forming a government after five months on the legislative elections. The council also condemned the bombings and terrorist acts against citizens and Iraqi security forces.

Part, the new representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Hamid al-Bayati, in a speech to the UN Security Council demanding Iraq to derail the Council subject to Chapter VII and to protect his assets , stressing the commitment of the Iraqi government implement all international resolutions on Kuwait.

Al-Bayati :
Ask the Council to derail Iraq subject to Chapter VII and to protect his assets , in order to enable it to exercise its natural role as an effective member of the international community and the performance of his duties and the enjoyment of their rights as was the case before the adoption of Security Council resolution six hundred and sixty-one , one thousand nine hundred and one and ninety .

Al-Bayati stressed that all political parties in the country engage in dialogue with each other to form a government on the basis of the Iraqi Constitution and as soon as not to affect the delay in the formation of the security situation .
Representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations in Iraq Ad Melkert was addressed in his talk about the stalemate , in Iraq and on the formation of the new government , referring to the developments in the political situation and the process of forming a government.


Melkert :
The continued delay in the process of government formation contributes to the instability in the country, create conditions which may be exploited by elements opposed to democratic transition in Iraq, and this process forms a real test for the transition of Iraq to democracy, and compel Iraqi leaders to uphold the country's constitution.
