قالت مصادر صحفية كويتية إن المنسق الدولي للاسرى واعادة الممتلكات الكويتية جيناوي تاراسوف، سيزور العراق خلال الايام المقبلة لبحث ملف الأسرى والمفقودين الكويتيين. واوضحت صحيفة القبس الكويتية الصادرة اليوم الاربعاء، ان "وكيل وزارة الخارجية الكويتية خالد الجار الله، بحث مع المنسق الدولي عالي المستوى للاسرى واعادة الممتلكات الكويتية جيناوي تاراسوف، واستعرض اللقاء جهود المنسق الدولي خلال الفترة الماضية والمتعلقة بموضوع الاسرى واعادة الممتلكات الكويتية"، مضيفة ان " تاراسوف سيزور العراق قريبا لبحث ملف الاسرى والمفقودين الكويتيين". ويضم ملف العلاقات العراقية الكويتية الكثير من الملفات العالقة ابرزها التعويضات التي يدفعها العراق جراء غزو الكويت عام 1991، وموقف الكويت من خروج العراق من الفصل السابع للامم المتحدة، فضلا عن ترسيم الحدود بين البلدين ورفات الكويتيين المفقودين ابان الغزو العراقي. The file includes Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations a lot of outstanding issues, notably the compensation paid by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1991, and the position of Kuwait from Iraq would emerge from Chapter VII of the UN, as well as the demarcation of the border between the two countries and the remains of missing Kuwaitis during the Iraqi invasion.
ونقلت الصحيفة عن وكيل وزارة الخارجية الكويتية قوله ان "زيارة المنسق الدولي تصب في اطار التنسيق، لأن تاراسوف سيقدم في ديسمبر المقبل تقريره للأمين العام، وكان لا بد من التحرك ليعد التقرير"، مضيفا ان "تاراسوف سيقوم بلقاء المسؤولين في اللجنة الوطنية لشؤون الأسرى والمفقودين وباجراء اتصالاته بهذا الخصوص".
