Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on Wednesday discussed with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, while Pompeo said his country is determined to implement this decision gradually and systematically, in cooperation and coordination with Iraq.

The office said in a statement that "the Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi received US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo," noting that"the two sides discussed during the meeting discussed the US withdrawal from Syria."
