أكد السفير المصري لدى بغداد شريف شاهين " أن مصر والدول العربية لم تتأخر عن العراق ولم تغب عنه مطلقاً، وأن مصر تقف على مسافة واحدة من جميع العراقيين والقوى السياسية وأن الوقت حان لاخراج العراق من طائلة الفصل السابع " .
