Iraqi banks' capital rises by 16%

The Central Bank of Iraq increased the capital of banks operating in Iraq during the year 2000 and 16 by 16 percent.
The report, published by the Central Bank, said that the year 2000 and 16 recorded an increase in the capital of banksby 16 percent to reach more than eleven trillion dinars, and the report said that the increase was in the capital of private banks as a result of the entry of eight new private banks during the year Of which seven are Islamic banks and one commercial bank.
