(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) spokesman for the Office of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, issued a directive to the security services to take deterrent measures against the saboteurs and engineers in the popular demonstrations.

Al-Hadithi told the Euphrates News that "the government is working on two main tracks: seeking, responding seriously,promptly and immediately to respond to part of the demands of the demonstrators and also to work through other tracks in the medium term."
He added that "there are other demands that need time and significant financial allocations and this government endeavor for positive interaction was manifested through the decisions of the Council of Ministers in its last meeting and the formation of a ministerial committee was given powers to go to Basra and search to resolve the problems related to the demands of citizens.
"The government also strives to create a safe and peaceful environment for demonstrating. The right to demonstrate is constitutionally guaranteed, but according to the standards of peaceful demonstration and its requirements, which ensure that the public interest is not harmed, and that the security forces are not harmed.
"We look forward to a serious response by the demonstrators," he said.
"The existence of intelligence information documented at the meeting of the National Security Council, about the presence of individuals and groups trying to use the atmosphere of peaceful demonstration of the consolidation of the demonstrators to beat with members of security institutions as well as to carry out acts of sabotage and violence and the intrusion of state institutions and facilities and damage to the interest of Iraqi citizens.
Al-Hadithi said that "the National Security Council directed the security services to take reprisal measures against those who try to exploit this atmosphere and take illegal steps and prosecute him, and this is what we are working on," exhorting "citizens and demonstrators not to give these people a chance to distort their legitimate demands and take steps leading to the collision with members of security forces As a result, they are the people of Iraq, they made sacrifices and they continue to provide for the protection of Iraqis from terrorism and organized crime. "
Al-Hadithi said, "It is in the interest of the Najaf Airport to be stormed, which is one of the landmarks of the province. It serves Iraq in general and facilitates the movement of citizens, the flourishes of religious tourism and the movement of business in the province. Provinces? ".
"Any damage to the investment environment in all its economic, political and security aspects leads to the disruption of the government's work, vision and program in providing tens of thousands of jobs within investment projects," he said.

A number of southern provinces are witnessing popular demonstrations since July 8 that began in Basra and extended to other cities demanding services and employment opportunities.
Demonstrations witnessed clashes between protesters and security forces. There were also acts of sabotage and storming of government institutions such as the provincial councils and the international airport.
The unemployment rate among Iraqis is officially 10.8%. Under-24s make up 60 percent of Iraq's population, making unemployment twice as high among young people, AFP reported.
The tension coincides with attempts to form a coalition government after the parliamentary elections on May 12, which were accused of fraud.
