{International: Euphrates News} The commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East, Joseph Fotel, that NATO will open a military base in Iraq this fall.
"The key role of Al Qaeda will be training and other benefits," he said.
"I believe that the opening of al-Qaeda will have an impact on the development of Iraqi security forces and contribute to overall security sector reforms initiated by the Iraqis."
The Iraqi military source, has revealed a few days ago that "the NATO forces that will enter Iraqwill establish a military base for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, where there are more than 250 soldiers and trainers in addition to armored vehicles and combat helicopters and march."
The source said in a press statement that "the establishment of a military base for NATO forces that will enter Iraq before the end of 2018, aimed at assisting and develop the training of Iraqi forces and the construction of a national security structure more effective and the establishment of new military schools."
"There are Iraqi-Western consultations to form a special task force to carry out special operations against the remaining gangs that support terror in Iraq and Syria," he said.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced NATO's agreement to establish a non-combat mission in Iraq led by Canada to train Iraqi forces.
