Allawi launches a national initiative and calls for an urgent consultative meeting

the President of the Iraqi Forum Iyad Allawi called on the political forces to hold an urgent national meeting to unite and organize their efforts and contribute to reform the process of political process and save Iraq from the plightcaused by the approach of quotas and the spread of corruption and external interference.
Allawi said in a press statement on Friday that "the current circumstances and challenges surrounding Iraq and the region require urgent action to arrange the internal house, and leave the negative aspects of the current phase and assume the historic responsibility in building one Iraq."
He also called for "naming a general secretariat of the political forces represented at this meeting to follow up the recommendations and decisions issued by them, to be submitted to the government to consider what strengthens the work of the executive branch and enhance its role."
He also stressed the importance of expanding the circle of communications to include the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, provided that political forces form a committee to sustain communication and achieve joint action in this dangerous and fateful atmosphere.
