The Security and Defense Committee of the House of Representatives replied on Saturday (May 18, 2019) to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in which it warned its citizens to travel to Iraq due to the unstable situation, and called on them to leave "immediately".

"Bahrain and other countries follow the United Statesin any way, and the purpose of these calls is to distort Iraq's reputation and to demonstrate that the security and political situation is unstable, and this is totally untrue," said Karim Alawi, a member of the committee.

He stressed that "the security situation in Iraq is stable and very good, but rather better than some Arab countries, and the security forces fully control the situation, and there is no risk to international missions or foreigners in Iraq."

Earlier on Saturday, Bahrain's Foreign Ministry warned citizens against traveling to Iraq and Iran because of the unstable situation and urged them to leave immediately.

The ministry, according to the Bahrain News Agency, called on "citizens not to travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq at the present time," indicating: "Given the unstable conditions in the region and the serious developments and threats and the existing and the great risks to security and stability" .

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry urged citizens in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq to leave immediately in order to ensure their security and safety.
