President Barham Saleh renewed on Wednesday morning a call for a major and fundamental ministerial reshuffle.

"A fundamental reshuffle is needed to improve the performance of the government," a presidential statement quoted Saleh as saying.

"The reshuffle should bring about a qualitative leapin the work of the government, to provide services, employ the unemployed and achieve social justice."

"The Iraqis are determined to press ahead with the state-building project," Saleh said. "It is our duty to make the necessary reforms that will guarantee them a free and decent life."

Saleh's comments came during his meeting with a number of tribal elders and notables.

The Iraqi President said to them: "Demonstration is a right guaranteed to every citizen provided that it is peaceful, and without the bloodshed of citizens and security forces, or bypassing public property."

He explained that the Presidency of the Republic will support compensation for those affected, and work to hold accountable criminals and outlaws, who fired at the demonstrators.

The Iraqi authorities continued to block social media sites in all Iraqi provinces, except in the areas of Iraqi Kurdistan after a partial return to the Internet.

With the return of the Internet continued to block the main communication sites used in Iraq, most notably Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Telegram, and WhatsApp.

Amnesty International has called on the Iraqi authorities to "end the illegal ban on Internet access and social media."
