a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Thamer Theban, called, on Wednesday, to proceed with the Chinese agreement to take advantage of its economic position instead of proceeding with the agreement with Washington, noting that the agreement represents a "rescue" for Iraq from its problems.
Theban said in a statement to Ayna News, that “the country's salvation from the previous accumulations and the collapse of the infrastructure lies in the advancement of the Chinese agreement,” indicating that “China is an economic stumbling block in front of Washington, which leads to the conclusion of some agreements with the Iraqi side in order to obstruct The Chinese agreement with Baghdad. ”
He added, "The government must present the Chinese agreement in a detailed and transparent manner to the House of Representatives to pass it in order for it to be accepted and obligated and to fulfill all the necessary legal and legislative frameworks to ensure that the implementation of the agreement proceeds without American foreign political restraints."
Theban clarified that "the United States of America does not want in any way the Iraqi government and the House of Representatives to proceed with activating economic cooperation with Beijing."
