The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji stressed, on Monday, the importance of protecting diplomatic missions in Iraq.
The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement that Ayna News received a copy of, that "Saleh received Al-Araji, and during the meeting, the importance of supporting the state and achieving its sovereignty was emphasized in imposing the law through the security services in a manner that guarantees security and stability in the country."
She added, "The importance of protecting diplomatic missions was emphasized as one of Iraq's obligations in accordance with international covenants and norms, and preventing attacks on them that affect the country's reputation in international forums."
She indicated, "The meeting dealt with the importance of intensifying security and intelligence efforts in pursuing ISIS terrorist cells and preventing extremists from being given any opportunity to undermine the security and stability of citizens."
