    good news part II

    Ok, vemos entonces que una y otra vez, el Consejo de Seguridad, reconoce que Irak ha dado el paso que esperaban, que lo que entregaron era finalmente lo que hacia falta y que todo esta en orden. Mas alla de eso, se comprometen en reunirse nuevamente para no solo dejar claro que Irak ha cumplido con todo, sino con miras a que una vez todos los miembros del Consejo de acuerdo, levantar las sanciones al momento!!! Lo que significa que muy posiblemente estemos esperando que todos los miembros del Consejo, cuadren sus agendas para estar todos presentes, poder reunirse, votar y levantar las sanciones en ese mismo momento! Ahora bien, que es lo que estamos esperando? Bueno, lamentablemente, en la agenda de trabajo del mes de marzo que esta publicada por el Consejo de Seguridad, no aparece una fecha para volver a reunirse para tocar el tema de Iraq. He aqui la agenda para el mes corriente;

    Peeeroooo hay una cosa que estaba en el camino de no saber como iban a ser las cosas para poder poner eso en agenda y eso son las elecciones. Aqui viene oooootra buena noticia , directamente del Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas;

    Declaración de prensa del Consejo de Seguridad sobre el Iraq de Elecciones

    La siguiente declaración del Consejo de Seguridad de prensa sobre las elecciones de Irak fue dado a conocer hoy:

    Los miembros del Consejo de Seguridad con beneplácito la celebración de elecciones parlamentarias en Irak el 7 de marzo de 2010. Los miembros Esperamos con interés el anuncio de Independiente de Irak Alta Comisión Electoral (IHEC) la certificación de los resultados electorales, y expresar su agradecimiento al Gobierno de Irak, incluyendo IHEC y fuerzas de seguridad iraquíes, por su dedicada labor en la preparación y la realización de estas elecciones, con el apoyo por la Misión de Asistencia de las Naciones Unidas para el Iraq (UNAMI).

    Los miembros del Consejo de Seguridad de elogiar y felicitar al pueblo de Irak para demostrar su continuo compromiso con un proceso político pacífico, incluyente y democrático. Las elecciones representan un paso importante en el proceso político encaminado a fortalecer la unidad nacional de Iraq, la soberanía y la independencia.(Esas dos palabritas son la clave en este comunicado )

    Los miembros del Consejo de Seguridad reiteran que ningún acto terrorista puede revertir el camino hacia la paz, la democracia y la reconstrucción de Iraq, que es apoyado por el pueblo y el Gobierno de Iraq y la comunidad internacional. (Wow, oootra mas! ) En este sentido, los miembros del Consejo de Seguridad que condene los actos de los que tratan de negar la voz del pueblo iraquí, tratando de interrumpir las elecciones.

    Ok, todo se ve bien bonito, entonces que estamos esperando. Aqui no me queda mas remedio que especular, que definitivamente, concuerdo con los "rumores" (conste que sin decir fecha alguna) en que lo que esperamos es que sea oficial el resultado de las elecciones, para que el Consejo de Seguridad, de la misma manera en que abrio la agenda para este ultimo comunicado, se siente con Irak, voten sobre las sanciones (que otra buena noticia es que TODOS los miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad ya se han expresado publicamente en favor de levantar las mismas) y no solo lo aprueben, sino que las eliminen al momento! Asi que tomando toda esta informacion real, basada en hechos de lo que estamos viviendo y lo que esta pasando en Iraq y los compromisos hechos por las Naciones Unidas, entiendo que viendo que apenas estamos a 12 de marzo (dia en que escribo esto) y tomando tambien en consideracion lo aligerado que esta el paso (en comparacion a como se movian antes y esto los que llevamos tiempo sabemos que es asi!!!) es muuuyyy posible de que estemos a solo horas, dias, quizas semanas, pero DUDO que meses de que lo meeeeeenos que pueda pasar es que escuchemos oooootra buena noticia!

    Here is the translated version.

    Ok, then we see that again and again, the Security Council recognized that Iraq has made the move hoping that what was finally delivered what was needed and that everything is in order. Beyond that, are committed not only to meet again to make it clear that Iraq has complied with everything, but with a view that once all members of the Council agree to lift the sanctions at the time! This means that most likely we're hoping that all Council members to balance their schedules to be all present, collect, and lift the sanctions vote right then! Now, that's what we're waiting? Well, unfortunately, in the work agenda of March which is published by the Security Council is not a date to meet again to broach the subject of Iraq. Here is the agenda for the current month;

    Peeeroooo one thing standing in the way of not knowing how things would be to put that agenda and that is elections. Here comes oooootra good news, straight from the Security Council of the United Nations;

    Press statement by Security Council on Iraq Elections

    The following Security Council statement to the press on Iraq's elections was released today:

    The members of the Security Council welcome the holding of parliamentary elections in Iraq on 7 March 2010. The members look forward to the announcement of Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) certifying the election results, and to thank the Government of Iraq, including IHEC and Iraqi security forces, for their dedicated work in preparing and conduct of these elections, supported by the Mission of United Nations Assistance for Iraq (UNAMI).

    Members of the Security Council commend and congratulate the people of Iraq to demonstrate its continued commitment to a peaceful political process, inclusive and democratic. The elections represent an important step in the political process to strengthen Iraqi national unity, sovereignty and independence. (Those two words are key in this release)

    The members of the Security Council reiterated that no terrorist act can reverse the path towards peace, democracy and reconstruction in Iraq, which is supported by the people and Government of Iraq and the international community. (Wow, oootra more!) In this regard, members of the Security Council to condemn the acts of those who seek to deny the voice of the Iraqi people trying to disrupt the elections.

    Ok, everything looks pretty good, then we are expecting. Here I have no choice but to speculate, which definitely agree with the "rumors" (stating that, without saying any date) that what we hope is that official is the result of the elections, so that the Security Council, the same way we opened the agenda for this last statement, he feels with Iraq, vote on the sanctions (which other good news is that all permanent members of the Security Council have already spoken publicly in favor of lifting them) and not just adopt it, but eliminate them right away! So taking all this real information based on facts of what we are experiencing and what is happening in Iraq and the commitments made by the United Nations, I understand that we are only seeing 12 March (day of writing this) and Considering also that it eased the shift (in comparison to, as they moved before and it's time that we know is so!) is possible that we muuuyyy just hours, days, maybe weeks, but I doubt that meeeeeenos months that could happen is that oooootra hear good news!
