Recovery of economic activity in Talafar - mayor

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: The mayor of Talafar said on Tuesday that the economic activity in Talafar has recovered recently because of the security stability in the district.

“The commercial movement has returned to the Talafar’s markets after the recent security stability in the district,” Abdulaal al-Ubeidi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“We hope to regain our position as an economic and commercial center in west of Ninewa,” he added.

“We were afraid of possible attacks during the elections, but the process went smoothly without any security violation,” he said.

Talafar district lies 60 km northwest of Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
