Issawi, Hill discuss election

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Rafie al-Issawi and U.S. ambassador to Iraq Christopher Hill discussed on Sunday the results of the country’s legislative elections and next government lineup, according to a statement by Issawi’s office.

“Deputy Premier Issawi and Ambassador Hill tackled the formation of the new Iraqi government based on the results of the ballots,” read the statement as received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The two sides also discussed items in the strategic framework agreement between Iraq and the United States that have to do with services, reconstruction and development,” the statement added.
