Al-Rasheed Bank reopened its bank in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Thursday after it was freed from the grip of the terrorist organization
Azhar Mohammed, director of the branch of the Rasheed Bank in Mosul, said in a statement read by Mawazin News that "the branch was reopened in the neighborhood of engineers east of the city, after the closure of government banks for nearly 3 and a half years,
The opening of the bank "will contribute significantlyto revive the economic movement in Mosul, after a recession that paralyzed its trade movement."
He added that the bank "will greatly ease the pensioners in the entire province of Nineveh, receipt of the accumulated funds for them instead of going to the capital Baghdad, as well as the bank will strengthen banking dealings with foreign organizations in the business campaigns and humanitarian assistance."
Da'ash was controlled by all government banks in Mosul in June 2014 and seized millions of dollars.
