Urgent : Iran closed border crossings with the region at the request of Baghdad

The Foreign Ministry announced that Iran's closure of the border crossings with the Kurdistan region was at the request of Baghdad.
"At the request of the Iraqi government, the Islamic Republic of Iran closed today the official border crossings with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, as part of themeasures taken by the Iraqi federal government to impose full control," ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement. On the border ports and airports in the region in order to ensure the unity of Iraq and its territorial integrity, after the holding of unconstitutional referendum by the authorities in the Kurdistan region.
