Alaa al-Rubaie, MP of Muqtada al-Sadr's Sairoun alliance, made the remarks today, saying that a law is being prepared (where do you get this?) To present it to parliament in the second legislative term.
He added that this law was introduced only at the levelof the media, but did not find a way to apply on the ground as a result of pressure exerted by what he described as whales of corruption.
The MP from the Alliance accused many political parties and personalities of possessing countless wealth looted from the wealth of the people in earlier times, stressing that looting continues without legal deterrent.
He stressed that everyone knows the truth of these and what they had in the past and what they are now, and therefore the legislation of the law from where you get this will put them before the legal accountability; to return all the looted money to the coffers of the state.
