The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, on Sunday, expressed satisfaction after meeting with the Special Envoy of the President of the United States, and the Ambassador of Washington in Iraq.

Barzani, in a tweet on Twitter, expressed "satisfaction with the visitof the special envoy of US President Brett McGurk and Ambassador Douglas Silliman," noting that they discussed during the meeting "the latest political developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan region."

"Barzani received today, the special envoy of US President Brett McGurk, and the Ambassador of Washington Douglas Silliman," the press office of Massoud Barzani said earlier Sunday.

According to the statement, "congratulated MacGurk during the meeting on the occasion of the victory achieved by the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the parliamentary elections of Kurdistan," stressing "the role and place of the Democratic Party in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region."

He added that "the meeting saw a discussion in the Iraqi political situation and the latest developments and the latest steps to form the Iraqi government."
