Vietnam- a dynamic country with great potential

Vietnam is increasingly becoming an active member of the international community, said Canadian newspaper the Toronto Sun on June 26 as Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung took part in the G20 Summit in Canada.
The article stated that Vietnam is a dynamic country with a lot of potential that contributes to the global economy. Over the past 24 years, Vietnam has made many achievements in poverty reduction and economic development that contributes significantly improving the quality of life for Vietnamese people. As a result, Vietnam has become a highly competitive economic partner in the international community. Being one of the economies in the world to have a high economic growth rate, Vietnam has a remarkable amount of attracted foreign investment.

With its open external policy, Vietnam has expanded regional and international cooperation. It has established diplomatic ties with 170 countries and has trade links with more than 220 countries and territories around the world.

Vietnam became a full member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1995 and plays an important role in the bloc. The country is also an active member of other regional and international organisations and forums. Vietnam’s entry to the WTO in 2006 was a landmark in its integration into the international community as well as the global economy.

Vietnam is a friendly and hospitable country with 54 different ethnic minority groups and many places of interests and attracts large numbers of foreign tourists every year.

Vietnamese people are dynamic, industrious and creative and the country’s highly skilled workforce has enabled it to become one of the strongest economies in Asia.

Vietnam is also ready to be an active partner with developing countries in education, science and technology and biological and environmental protection.

The country is always keen to expand and build good relations with its partners in the world.
