North Korea announces successful hydrogen bomb test

North Korea announced Sunday that it conducted a successful test of the hydrogen bomb, saying it was for the purposes of ballistic missiles of intercontinental system, according to state television transmitted.
"The experience of the hydrogen bomb was conducted to test and confirm the accuracy and reliability of the technological systemsand the designs of modern internal structures introduced into the systems of carrying the hydrogen bomb on intercontinental ballistic missiles," the report said.
On Sunday morning, the US Geological Survey observed a 6.3-magnitude earthquake in northern North Korea and a region close to Pyongyang's nuclear testing area. The Japanese government said that after analyzing the information, the earthquake was caused by a nuclear explosion .
