"We regret that many of the media quoted this reporteven though it was issued from an anonymous site," said Hisham al-Rikabi, director of the office.
"The Daily Beast" has no professional knowledge of the information, not even a clear vision of what is going on in Iraq.
"There are always stories targeting al-Maliki, and these are pushed by international pressure lobbies to target Iraqi political figures," he said. "The investigative clerks did not bother to contact us and confirm this information or take our opinion."
