Legal expert: the Constitution prevents Allawi as PM because his mother's Lebanese

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: legal expert Tareq Harb, Sunday, Iyad Allawi cannot be prime minister because his mother is Lebanese and this is incompatible with the Constitution.

(Voices of Iraq) that "According to Article 77 of the Constitution requires those who held the posts of President and the Prime Minister to be an Iraqi by birth from Iraqi parents and parent term for the father and mother, and therefore can not be Iyad Allawi, prime minister because his mother is Lebanese."

And Iyad Allawi heads the Iraqi coalition, which includes a number of political blocs list of the most prominent of renewal of the Vice-President Tareq al-Hashemi, and the latest results released by the Electoral Commission has shown progress of former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi on Maliki's bloc a slight lead after screening about 93% of the vote.
