The head of the coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki, discussed with his special envoy to the United States, Brig. Gen. Brett McGurk, in the presence of Ambassador Douglas Silliman, the latest developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the region, and means of enhancing bilateral relationsbetween the two countries.
"Iraq today has become the focus of the world's attention after it has succeeded in eradicating terrorism," al-Maliki said during a meeting with the Iraqi news agency KNA, adding that "the need to speed up the formation of the government so that our country can enjoy security and stability."
He pointed out that "the need to support the next government to be able to meet the demands of Iraqis in the development of the investment sector and reconstruction of the country and the provision of services and enhance political stability and security."
