Channel Baghdadiya liquidate its offices in Iraq after the closure decision

Channel announced "Baghdadi" space based in Egypt with the liquidation of all its offices in Iraq on Friday, following an earlier decision of the authorities shut it down after it broadcast the demands of the perpetrators of the massacre of the Syriac Catholic Church in Baghdad last month.

According to a statement published on its website "at the insistence of Prime Minister (Nuri al-Maliki) to prevent channel Baghdadiya offices from working in Iraq, the administration has decided to channel the liquidation of its offices in Baghdad and a number of provinces."

"In time we regret that such a coercive action (...) We will continue to devote free media supervisory authority of government work and follow-up files of corruption and insistence on method of Rai and the other opinion and political debate."

The statement called on "responsible authorities to lift her hand from the besieged building the channel so that the staff transfer the equipment and dispose of them."

The Iraqi authorities closed the station's offices in Baghdad on the first of November following the broadcast the demands of the perpetrators of the attack, which killed 46 worshipers in the October 31.

And said the media and communications said the closure was based on a decision issued by the channel for violating rules and regulations of the broadcast media and breach of public order, explaining that the decision subject to appeal within a month.

And the Commission determines that the channel "has become a platform for terrorists who would undermine the lives of innocent people."

It is owned by businessman Aoun Alkhclok resident in Egypt.
