NATO expresses its readiness to extend its mission in Iraq
Palm - The commander of the joint forces of NATO in Iraq, Admiral Samuel Locklear said that NATO was prepared to extend stay in Iraq to train police forces after the end of next year.
The Admiral Locklear in remarks made to reporters at Camp Dublin near Baghdad on Wednesday that the extension becomes possible when requested by the Iraqi government and Iraqi people, the survival of NATO forces to complete the training missions.
He did not specify Admiral Locklear time period may be extended, saying that there were discussions between NATO and the Iraqi government about what the new mission of NATO forces in Iraq.
The admiral's remarks came during training Iraqi forces carried out under the supervision of NATO troops
