Iraqi parliament speaker thanks Kuwait for keenness in stable Iraq
Iraqi parliament speaker Ayad Al-Samarrae Friday highly appreciated the Kuwaiti leadership and government for their keenness to see stability and security prevail in Iraq.
Speaking to reporters at Kuwait Airport at the start of a five-day visit, Al-Samarrae said he would be meeting with a number of Kuwaiti officials to follow up the outcome of his visit last July, and to further cement relations with the parliament in Kuwait.
He expressed gratitude "for the political leadership in Kuwait at the top of which is His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on their keenness over the Iraqi affairs and their desire to see stability in Iraq."
Al-Samarrae called for the development of ties with Kuwait in all domains and to continue discussions with the officials in Kuwait over all outstanding issues.
"If there are some obstacles in any phase then we have to discuss how to remove them," he said.
