Vienna - VOA - Iraq's ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to UN organizations in Vienna, Tarek Akreyi, he delivered three letters from the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Director-General of the IAEA requested to formally inform the Security Council to cooperate fully with the Agency and signed the protocols to prevent the production of banned weapons and acceptance inspections, and in order to lift international restrictions imposed on him.
Akreyi told the Kuwaiti news agency, on the sidelines of the IAEA Board of Governors is being held, said Baghdad made formal requests in this regard, and is continuing in their efforts to get rid of the sanctions issued after Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.
He noted that the Security Council recently issued a decision which did not respond to Iraq's request for him out of the seventh item, but only welcomed the positive response of Iraq and signing the protocols and advised him to accept periodic inspections.
The Iraqi diplomat revealed that he will meet with Director General of IAEA, Yukiya Amano again to get to know what steps to take.
He grew up spot checks on the system of clandestine nuclear activities after the IAEA discovered in 1991 and a secret nuclear program in Iraq
