BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish Lawmaker Mahmoud Othman ruled out on Sunday that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) would reach a strong resolution about Iraq.

“The UNSC will only express concern regarding the current situation in Iraq,” Othman told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He noted that the UNSC will also demand that the Iraqi political blocs speedup steps to bridge the gap between them to form the new Iraqi government.

“Nothing more,” Othamn added.
