Key Al Qaida operative killed in northern Iraq

BAGDHAD — A leading operative of the Al Qaida network has been killed in Iraq. ShareThis


Officials said Khalid Mohammed Hasan Shalub Al Juburi was killed in an Iraqi-U.S. security operation in Mosul on March 19. They said Al Juburi, also known as Sheik Khalid, was believed to be a leader of the insurgency network in northern Iraq.
"He is believed to have played an integral role in approving AQI operations, including attacks against the Iraqi people before and during the recent parliamentary elections," the U.S. military said on March 20
